How does Smart Irrigation work?

With the development of the Internet of Things, sensors and wireless transmission technologies have been widely used in smart agriculture. Smart agriculture is based on traditional agriculture, equipped with advanced facilities and perfect monitoring system. Wireless transmission systems based on Lora technology can improve agricultural production efficiency and reduce environmental pollution, thereby maximizing cost savings for agricultural producers or enterprises.Smart irrigation systems monitor weather, soil moisture, evaporation and plant species to automatically adjust watering schedules. Irrigation work can be carried out according to time and area, avoiding the waste of water resources caused by traditional preset irrigation. The smart irrigation system uses LORA or home wifi for signal transmission, and managers can control it remotely from their mobile phones or computers. The irrigator does not need to open or close the water valve manually.

Evaporation sensor and blade humidity sensor

Evaporation sensors are equipment related to weather monitoring. Its value reflects the amount of evaporation from the soil surface. Gathering this climate-related information allows adjustment of irrigation duration. Promote local water circulation. Evaporation sensors can significantly reduce irrigation water use.

Soil moisture sensor
Soil moisture sensor is a device that directly measures whether soil is dry or not. Generally, the probe is inserted into the same depth as the plant root, and the measurement results are more accurate. Soil sensors in different areas are used in conjunction with the nearest soil controller. Control irrigation at different locations. The management platform can set high and low alarm values for soil sensors in different areas. Once the soil moisture exceeds the alarm value, the controller closes the water valve, and when the soil moisture is below the alarm value, the controller opens the water valve.

According to different soil types, we can choose different soil moisture sensors. Consumers only need to confirm system compatibility when purchasing sensors.

Wind speed sensor

Watering when the wind is blowing will reduce the uniformity of the distribution of lawn irrigation and reduce the amount of water that seeps into the soil. If the wind speed exceeds a certain threshold, we need to install wind speed sensors to interrupt the irrigation cycle. According to the current weather conditions in the region, we can arrange the irrigation cycle and duration reasonably, which can save a lot of water resources.

Rain and snow sensor

When you water your lawn and it happens to rain, you must stop watering it immediately. Watering in the rain wastes water and money, and causes unnecessary runoff. Smart irrigation can do the same. Rain and snow sensor is the basis of this function. Rain and snow sensors have metal wires on the surface that conduct electricity when encountering rain or snow. The electrical signal is sent to the management platform, and the platform informs the controller to close the water valve in time after receiving it.

Intelligent irrigation systems and agricultural sensors

Advantages of intelligent irrigation system

It saves manpower. Compared with traditional irrigation, intelligent irrigation is an automatic method. Irrigators do not need to walk around irrigating fields with nozzles. There is also no need to open or close the water valve manually. A mobile phone or a computer can do the whole irrigation job. No more worrying about garden plants wilting from lack of water while traveling. You can safely play anywhere.

Save water. The purpose of smart irrigation is to save water, and it replaces the previous flood irrigation. It uses less water to meet the growth needs of plants. Intelligent irrigation systems can collect soil moisture data and effectively control irrigation water use. It is also equipped with a recycling system to save water.

Remote management. You do not have to be present in the irrigated area to perform monitoring data analysis and irrigation work using a mobile phone or computer. Just turn on your phone at the right time and observe how the plant is growing. One person can manage multiple cloud platforms at the same time and irrigate thousands of acres of farmland, greatly saving labor costs.

Fine irrigation. Adjust the irrigation mode in time according to the real-time data measured by the sensor. Water the plants regularly and quantitatively according to their growth. Irrigate the whole garden evenly so that each flower grows healthily.

Intelligent control. Timing irrigation, remote irrigation, circulation irrigation, three irrigation methods flexible switch, the head modification immediately effective.
