Wind speed and direction are two of the many variables that meteorologists track when observing the weather. Wind speed and direction can provide important clues about the weather and can even play a role in predicting future conditions. For example, in the Northern Hemisphere, southerly winds usually bring warmer air, while northerly winds usually bring cooler air. In the eastern United States, easterly winds bring moist air, while westerly winds bring dry air, and the opposite is true in the West. These winds blow at different speeds. Under the influence of a high pressure system, winds are usually light, while low pressure usually brings more blustery conditions. Tracking wind and subsequent weather conditions can help you predict upcoming weather by looking at the speed and location of the wind. Wind direction sensor problem
1.The wind vane is not flexible and stuck
If you buy a new wind direction sensor, the weathervane element at the top of the manual rotating weathervane assembly is stuck, which means the sensor is damaged and the bearing rotation is blocked. Contact the manufacturer for replacement. If the device is connected and the wind direction sensor is measured by electricity, the wind vane is not sensitive, you need to replace the sensor or contact the manufacturer for troubleshooting. If you are not an expert on wind direction sensors, do not remove the sensors at will.
If your wind direction sensor is not flexible or stuck for a long time, it may be due to long-term maintenance and cleaning, resulting in serious aging or wear of internal components. You need to replace the sensor component or disassemble the sensor for internal cleaning.
2.Intermittent wind direction reading
The wind direction sensor has the problem of intermittent reading when it is put into use. That’s when you need to check your wiring. In most cases, this is caused by poor contact between your device and the collection device. Technologists call this a “signal open circuit.”

Open circuit refers to the circuit state when no current flows between two points in the circuit or a conductor with very large impedance (or resistance) is connected. Open signal lines may be interfered with and produce incorrect output. In this case, you need to be patient and examine the connectors and wires.
3.The wind direction is zero
Some users encounter this problem the first time they use the wind direction sensor. This value is always displayed as zero when you connect the sensor. When this problem occurs, manually close the wind vane of the wind direction sensor. If the value changes, you have placed the vane in the same direction as the current wind direction. The reading is the current displayed wind direction value. If the wind direction value is still zero during rotation, check the cable and power supply system to troubleshoot wiring problems and no power supply problems. If none of the above problems, the internal sensor may be damaged, need to replace the accessories or sensors.
4.The wind azimuth is incorrect
First, the wind direction sensor has a directional symbol “N”. During installation, the direction sign “N” should point to true north. If you do not follow this step, inaccurate wind direction measurement may occur.
Second, use a backup device to connect and turn the weathervane. If the wind direction indicator can be rotated to 239°, it indicates that the wind direction sensor is working properly. Check whether other parts are working properly; Connect and rotate the wind vane using the standby device. The wind direction indicator does not appear. 239° and other directions often appear jump display, indicating that the wind direction sensor part of the infrared light emitting diode is broken, check and repair; Use the wind direction and anemometer to check whether the wind direction sensor is working properly.
