What is a temperature and humidity sensor?

Temperature and humidity sensors (or RH temperature sensors) are devices that convert temperature and humidity into electrical signals that can easily measure temperature and humidity. The temperature and humidity transmitters on the market generally measure the temperature and relative humidity in the air, and convert them into electrical signals or other signals in the form of output to the instrument or software according to certain rules, to meet the needs of users’ environmental monitoring.

What is the principle of humidity sensor?

The components of the T/H sensor module mainly include humidity sensitive capacitance and conversion circuit. The wet-sensitive capacitor consists of a glass substrate, a lower electrode, a wet-sensitive material and an upper electrode. Humidity sensitive material is a kind of polymer whose dielectric constant varies with the relative humidity of the environment. When the ambient humidity changes, the capacitance of the humidity sensor will also change. That is, when the relative humidity increases, the humidity sensitive capacitance also increases, and vice versa. The sensor’s conversion circuit converts changes in the wet-sensitive capacitance to changes in voltage, corresponding to relative humidity changes from 0 to 100%RH.
